What my friends at OHS say about me:

• I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Meet and greets are subject to staff availability and you'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.
• To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
• I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues such as sit, stay, crate, touch, and walking nicely on leash.
• High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
• I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you. I love water, trips to the river or beach would be incredible!
• Bite History: I have a history of biting a person when I became over aroused during a run and displaced that energy onto my handler.

The type of home I'm looking for:

• I need to go to a home without small children, as I will certainly knock them over in my excitement or try to steal their toys to play with. Teenagers could be fun!
• I need a home without cats or other small animals.
• I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.
• I have been told I have a lovely singing voice. I may not do well living in an apartment complex or dwelling with shared walls.

Meet and greets with pets are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you come to the shelter and see a pet you are interested in meeting, take note of the pet’s name and visit the front desk in the lobby.
