Fraud Alert

Oregon Humane has become aware of a “spoofing” scam targeting owners of lost pets. They pose as Oregon Humane and claim the pet is injured, in need of medical care, then demand payment. This call may look legitimate since it appears to come from Oregon Humane’ main phone number, (503) 285-7722. Oregon Humane has reported this crime and is taking steps to inform our community of this scam.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Do not make any payments for medical services via Zelle or Venmo.
  • If you suspect you are a victim of this scam, hang up and call Oregon Humane directly at (503) 285-7722 to report the scam or verify that we have your lost pet.
  • Report fraud cases directly with the FTC.
